π³οΈ Tyler MacFarlane for Collingwood Town Council
Building a Dynamic, Transparent, and Livable Collingwood Together
Collingwood is facing a pivotal moment. From managing intentional, sustainable development and protecting our historic Hurontario downtown core to ensuring our regional Simcoe County infrastructure keeps pace with our growing population, we need a proactive, common-sense voice at the table.
As your candidate for Town Councillor, I am committed to working full-time for our entire community.
πΊοΈ Understanding Our At-Large Election System
Did you know that Collingwood elects its Town Council using an "At-Large" system? Unlike other municipalities, we do not have separate geographic wards. This means every single resident across the entire Town of Collingwood votes for the same list of candidates.
You get up to SEVEN (7) votes for Councillor.
You do not have to choose just one person.
You can select your top choices to fill all seven seats on Council.
I am asking for one of your seven votes to ensure a balanced, accountable local government.
ποΈ My Core Stances & Local Pillars
Affordable Housing
We must champion diverse housing options. This ensures young families, local workers, and seniors can afford to live, work, and stay rooted right here in Collingwood.Critical Infrastructure (Hospital, Fire, Water Services & Roads)
Our town's core services must keep pace with our population. I will prioritize upgrading our roads, expanding water capacity, fully supporting our fire services, and fiercely advocating for our local hospital infrastructure.Availability of Family Doctors
Access to primary healthcare is a critical challenge in our region. I will support proactive municipal strategies and healthcare recruitment initiatives to attract and retain more family doctors to Collingwood.Responsible & Sustainable Growth
Development must be managed intentionally. I am committed to policies that protect our historic downtown core and unique natural environment while building a vibrant, resilient economy.Transparent Accountability
Local government belongs to you. I will demand open communication, clear transparency on tax spending, and accessible public engagement so council decisions are never made behind closed doors.
